Customer Comments

August 2007

I would like to commend your product for a job well done this past week. We installed your back up system approximately 13 years ago and have had it maintained over the years by your technicians. We live in Des Plaines, one of the areas hit hardest with the storms Thursday-Saturday. We lost power on Thursday at about 3 PM and it didn't come back on until around 11:00 AM on Friday. During the outage, violent storms dumped significant amounts of water on us non-stop throughout the entire period. The back-up pump ran continuously for the entire time, shutting off only to start right up again. I didn't even muffle the alarm, because the sound was music to my ears.

I believe that I was one of the only people who had a battery on a back-up system that lasted through the night. I live in a neighborhood with very nice homes and almost everyone had some sort of back-up system. Everyone flooded, with the exception of a few who were able to come up with generators to keep their regular pumps working. I remember commenting to the technician when we purchased our Trusty Warns system about how expensive it was, and his comment to me was that I would appreciate it someday when I was depending on it to work. Well that day came, and I am happy to say that I'm not tearing out carpeting and throwing out ruined furniture like many of my neighbors. Many are spending thousands of dollars to clean up the mess and will need to replace drywall, floors, appliances, etc.

Thank you again.

Dear Sir:

Last night was the biggest test ever for the Trusty Warns system. It passed with flying colors. I had no power from 4:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. The battery hardly discharged. The finished basement was dry as a bone even after all those storms. Trusty Warns was well worth the initial cost. Thanks again.

Sincerely-

During Glenview's recent power outage, we were so very thankful that we had a Trust Warns battery powered pump system. We were without CWE electrical power for a total of 95 hours. During the first 24 hours, our Trusty Warns battery back up worked the entire time! In fairness, I would state that the sump worked 30 seconds removing water, which then took 1 minute and 30 seconds to refill. Initially, the water was returning to the pit so fast that no longer than 30 seconds after discharging the pit, it started all over again. So, for every one hour, the battery worked 15-30 minutes - which easily equates to a 6+ hour battery life. Yet, the voltage on the battery was reading 11 volts at the end of 24 hours. Fortunately, we were able to locate a back up generator and connected it to our sump pump (and back up system). The battery is a full 5 years old...and we will have it replaced just to be on the safe side.

We are thankful that we had a Trusty Warns system, and I would recommend it to anyone!

Thank you!

I installed a TrustyWarns immediately after the last time my basement flooded in February 2007, vowing such devastation would never, as in never, happen again. This flood did $20,000 damage, and took us 6 months to recover from. My wife initially balked at investing about 10% of this amount in a TrustyWarns unit, but she’s not balking now. We are one of the only homes that didn’t flood in the recent August deluge that knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of Chicago area folks. Advertised as being able to pump for 9 hours continuously, our TrustyWarns activated and pumped immense amounts of water that came pouring into our sump on an average of every 40 seconds, and did so for over 14 hours straight until the power returned. We are so impressed, that when we have our next annual service of the unit, we plan to add another battery and would like to talk to you about your solar panel option. I haven’t the slightest doubt your unit saved us another $20,000 hit that we absolutely could not have afforded.

When we moved here 14 years ago, I didn't even know what a sump pump was. A friend (and a former employee, Mark Fuhs) told me that our basement should have a back-up pump and handed me one of your cards. We had it installed in August of 1993.

We have your system checked every year, in August. Every year, we tell the technician, "No, the back-up has never gone off." Last year, when Patrick recommended your maintenance-free gel battery, we bought it immediately. This year we had our system serviced in June, and Patrick said everything looked great.

Three weeks ago, during the big storm, we lost power for 17 hours, during the worst of the rain. Our back-up pump worked the entire time. Our basement did not flood. Many of our neighbors had 6 to 9 inches of water in their basements. Because of your excellent products, services and employees, we stayed dry. I can't say thank you enough times to truly express my gratitude.

Best regards,
Laura
